Hopefully IDPH will be able to get a handle on this situation very quickly; the only hint of a silver lining to this story is that Legionnaire's is not an infection that can be easily spread via direct contact between one person and another. Infection control (especially when it comes to something as dangerous and potentially life-threatening as respiratory illnesses among an elderly population)…

Winter festival to be held in Clat Adams park

Kids carnival, ice skating and more will be available on Saturday, January 19.

The Quincy Park District and River Skate are offering a fun-filled Winter Festival from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19.

The event will feature a kid’s carnival with fun stations, silly winter hat contest, crafts and ice skating with pirates and princesses.

The family-friendly event will be held at Clat Adams Bicentennial Park and River Skate on the riverfront.

Vendors will be Bittersweet Confections and Krazy Cakes, both serving up sweet and savory treats and drinks.

No reservations required.
