Second water main break causes service interruption

Areas affected around 24th and Oak

There has been a water main break in the vicinity of 24th and Oak in Quincy.

Water service could be interrupted until 6 pm tonight.

Areas affected include Oak Street from 24th to 25th and 25th Street from College to Oak.

Once service is restored, a 48 hour boil order will be in effect.

 

A water main break has canceled classes at Quincy's Baldwin Intermediate School today.

From Quincy Public Schools: "School will be canceled at Baldwin School due to a water main break that is also affecting the electricity.  Any students who have already been picked up by the bus will be returned home."

The break is on the school's property, according to City of Quincy officials.

All other Quincy Public Schools are in session.
