Haulin' it for Heroes

Poker Run set for July 5

The inaugural Haulin’ It For Heroes motorcycle poker run to benefit Six String Heroes takes place Saturday, July 5, in Quincy and the surrounding area.

Six String Heroes provides free guitars and lessons to veterans. The program is based out of Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, with lessons available in Quincy at Second String Music and Vancil Performing Arts.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. at Second String Music, Fifth and Maine, Quincy. Ride briefing is at 10:30 and bikes will depart by 10:45.

The event finished up at the Adams County Fairgrounds in Mendon about 3 p.m. Riders are invited to stay for the opening ceremonies of the Mid-America Salute To Veterans at the fairgrounds.

The first hand is $10 with additional hands $5 each.
