I am happy for Rome also. Does the law require that all that time and money be spent to look for a new person when he was the man to start with? Just curious. All three were great picks but Rome has a lifetime of experience with this type of thing.

I wish it showed a line item cost for the Gov. Mansion (utilities, security, maintenance, etc.) I doubt that Rauner would live there either. "It would be cheaper to own a Hotel/Motel in Springfield and have the elected officials stay there when in town and the other rooms would help pay for it. The sale of those homes would buy a hotel/motel".

Frankenhoff said it was Frericks' call as to if the job was filled and who would fill it.

Kids can tie die clothing items for 4th of July

The Quincy Family YMCA will host a Red, White and Blue Tie Dye Extravaganza on Wednesday, June 25 in the Kids Fit Zone. There are two time slots available for the event; 9:30-10:30am or 4:30-5:30pm.

Come anytime during the Extravaganza hours and have the YMCA Staff help you tie dye your shirt, shorts, socks, etc red, white, and blue just in time for the 4th of July. Please bring a white item to be tie dyed and we will supply the rest! If you forget your white item there will be some available for purchase. Parents are welcome to stay and join in on the fun or take advantage of an hour away from the kids. Cost is $5 for members or $7 for non-members.
