when this started back in October of last year the city government claimed there was no money to support new equipment But now the money is there can anybody help with this (confused)

Really? Which alderman are you? The aldermen have screwed this over big time. The mayor has brought hew innovative ideas to the council for them to review and they are so worried about their health insurance they can't do anything. I'm waiting for one of the aldermen to bring forth a fix for the garbage situation...... crickets.......

The Quincy Salvation Army will open the Kroc Center and Family Services office as cooling centers on days when heat advisories are issued for our area, for those who need to get out of the extreme heat. 
The Family Services office is located in the new Emergency Shelter and Family Services Center at 501 Broadway in Quincy. It will be open as a cooling center during heat advisories, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.

The Kroc Center, at 405 Vermont, is open as a cooling center during heat advisories from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, seven days a week.

Should there be need for emergency housing, The Salvation Army Emergency Shelter can be contacted at (217) 222-8655.
