Sure hope all the new folks promise not to suck the public teat of Health insurance and pension plan for a part time job. We taxpayers could save $20,000 for every current alderman we turn out if the new person would swear off the public nipple.

Guy, I AM a travel consultant, and we don't buy tickets from airlines like that - all airline tickets are name specific. The only time we might have a block of tickets is for groups, and those have deposits and deadlines attached to them. So that would not work. I love flying out of the Quincy Airport. Jarred Hester is doing a great job there, but another airline is probably not going to come…

Just FYI... CNN, MSNBC, and several websites are reporting (Monday afternoon) that the Ferguson grand jury has reached a decision, and that an announcement will be made later on this afternoon.

Quincy's roller derby team raising money for Homeward Bound Waggin

Event will be held at Scotties Fun Spot this Saturday

The Dark River Derby Coalition, Quincy's first women's flat track roller derby league, will be hosting the Prairieland Punishers in a bout to raise money for Homeward Bound Waggin.

The event will take place Saturday, June 14th at Scotties Fun Spot (8000 Broadway in Quincy).

Doors open at 6:30 and bout starts at 7pm.

Tickets are $8 for adults in advance, $10 at the door. Kids 12 and under are free.

A portion of the ticket sales will be donated by the Dark River Derby Coalition and Scotties Fun Spot to Homeward Bound Waggin.

All bouts are child friendly and alcohol is available for those 21+.
