I wouldn't be able to give a very educated response to that question, because (having this conversation in work circles) I always understood this franchise agreement to include a fee a cable company would pay to the city of Quincy for sole rights as a cable provider in town. The last couple of years I have learned Adams is the CATV provider at Blessing and many businesses in town, a year ago…

Well said, whiner1!!! Somebody at Sony Pictures Entertainment was desperately trying to be edgy and topical when they approved the production of The Interview (in spite of the fact that the creators of South Park already poked fun at North Korea a decade ago). Truth be told, the screenplay for The Interview probably should have found its' way into the trash can a long time ago. No theater owner…

The NFL officially announced earlier today (12/20/14) that no team will be moving to Los Angeles for the 2015 season. So the St. Louis Rams are staying put, for the time being. Happy holidays, sports fans! :-)

Quincy Regional Sleep Disorders Support Group to meet

Meetings are helpful to anyone currently using sleep apnea therapy, those beginning therapy or those with questions about sleep apnea, as well as anyone dealing with any form of sleep disorder

The Quincy Regional Sleep Disorders Support Group will meet on Tuesday, June 17, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Blessing Sleep Lab on the lower level of the Bank of Quincy, located at 12th & Broadway. The meeting will feature Walid Hafez, M.D., neurologist, Blessing Physician Services, presenting “Parasomnias.”

The term “parasomnia” refers to abnormal activities that can happen during sleep, apart from sleep apnea. Some examples are sleep-related eating disorder, sleep paralysis, REM sleep behavior disorder, confusional arousals and sleep aggression. Parasomnias can have negative effects on people during the daytime, including sleepiness. Parasomnias can also be triggered by other sleep disorders such as sleep apnea.

Quincy Regional Sleep Disorders Support Group meetings are helpful to anyone currently using sleep apnea therapy, those beginning therapy or those with questions about sleep apnea, as well as anyone dealing with any form of sleep disorder.  Family members and friends are also encouraged to attend. 

The support group is sponsored by The Blessing Sleep Center in association with the American Sleep Apnea Association, and the AWAKE (Alert, Well And Keeping Energetic) network.
