United Way raises $1.2 million

The United Way of Adams County has eclipsed its goal for the 2011 campaign.

The final pledged amount is $1,127,034, which surpasses the $1,1111,111 goal United Way campaign volunteers announced in August.

Campaign Chairman Carlos Fernandez of WGEM says the announcement is an update to the community on where the campaign stands not a final total raised. 

“None of our successes tonight could have happened without the support and enthusiasm from the community,” said Fernandez.  “Our staff and volunteers have worked very hard to spread the United Way story, and the community responded as it has for the past 75 years.”
