Three men assaulted a 21-year-old Quincy man Sunday night


Two more people have been arrested in connection with a Sunday night stabbing in a Quincy motel.

Paxton A. Barnett and Leonard Jerome Sims were arrested in Kirksville for the outstanding warrants that were issued on them for the home invasion and aggravated battery at the Bel Aire Motel on North 12th Street.

The weapons that were used - baseball bats and a knife - were also recovered.

Earlier in the week, Jason Mims of Kirksville turned himself in to Quincy police and was arrested on the same charges.

The 21 year old victim was treated and released from Blessing.

Quincy Police are looking for three men who allegedly beat and stabbed a man at a northside motel.

At 11:45 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to the Bel-Aire Motel, 2314 North 12th, in reference to a fight. Upon arrival, they found three subjects had kicked in the motel room door then struck the victim numerous times with baseball bats.

One of the subjects also stabbed the victim several times with a knife. The victim, a 21 year old Quincy man, had several stab wounds along with numerous bruises and abrasions. He was treated and released at Blessing Hospital.

The investigation is still under way. Police have yet to release a full description of the suspects.
