There's no financial support from the school? Why is that? ( My first thought was that maybe its considered a club sport instead of a sanctioned varsity sport?) Anyway... If you know of any way that they're accepting donations towards the cost of their trip, could you please post it here? Thanks.

Welch, like most politicians, has it all backwards. A little bit of "micromanaging" would do a lot of good, both to prevent outright fraud and to highlight other areas where money could be saved pretty effortlessly. (This same kind of stuff is what just ended Aaron Schock's career! Schock was relying on the absolute lack of oversight and "micromanaging", when he tried to claim 170,000 miles…

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 6TH

Berrian Elementary  -  Berrian PTA will be providing hot chocolate to students at recess.  Contact Chrissy Cox, Principal, 228-7691

Monroe Elementary – Quincy Art Center Lesson – Classroom art lessons.  Contact Julie Stratman, principal, 223-8871.

THURSDAY,  FEBRUARY 7TH

Early Childhood and Family Center – Respect Celebration – 9:30am and 1:30pm (20 min) - Legacy Martial Arts will be presenting to the students and staff about respect, reinforcing learned behaviors.  Contact Jamie McDowell, Literacy Coach,  228-7121

Madison Elementary – Scottie’s Skate Night – 6 to 8 pm – PTA sponsors a skate night for students and family. 

Monroe Elementary – Great Shakeout –  10:15am – A earthquake drill that will be happening simultaneously as schools all throughout Illinois.  Contact Julie Stratman, principal, 223-8871.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8th

Ellington Elementary – Gymnastics Night –6:30 to 9:30pm -  PTA is sponsoring a Pizza Fun Night at the Quincy Gymnastics Center, 2010 Jennifer Lane.  Contact Amanda Keck, PTA chair, 653-3786.
