Perhaps UKWP is trying to equate military service with "on the teat" teaching jobs. Of course there are many big differences, especially for military that are deployed, which is part of the job. There are indeed many public school teachers that see their unionized, teaching monopoly, "part time" job as a public service that demands the same respect as our military. Not many retire with PTSD, or…

And you're making the opposite mistake....saying that each thing, when added together, becomes a total justification. That's not how you justify expenditures. You have to make the case for EACH item in it's own right. And you do that compared to what it would cost to fix it in place...assuming you do have to fix it...which apparently we don't...because it hasn't been done.…

But if everything is already under construction, there is nothing that can be done. I have been involved with a lot of bid projects and there are always cost overruns. In fact, the contractors live for the over runs as it is how they make extra money. The words will be "change orders" and everyone will just have to bend over. I stick with my original post above, this project, if passed, will go…

If this was a responsible persons car it would of not got this bad, they would of took care of these issues as they came along, rather than waiting to dump 3 grand in at one time. But just for the sake of argument It sounds like this car has about 200,000 miles on it and its probably worth about $800, because cars don't hold their value especially when they are ragged out. So yea this is a no…

Strawman: Obama Extends Another Digit......

1 month, 3 weeks ago by Strawman

A few weeks ago I suggested that Barack Obama had flipped off the country.  Flipping off-- as in extending the middle finger and waving it in the face of the taxpayer.  The issues that lead me to that conclusion included the 5 for 1 deal for Beau Burgdahl, allowing the EPA to ignore or re-write state statues, and the further bypassing of both the Constitution and Congress.  That was in June.

Now that August has come and gone, it appears the president has extended the other middle finger.  Let’s label that digit “omission.”

“Omission, as I understand it, occurs when one fails to do something.  Like, “I failed to tell you I broke the window,” or “I failed to take out the trash.”  Or in the case of the Obama administration, “I failed to pay the proper respects” or “do the right thing”.

The prime example is the failure of the Obama group to pay respects to the late James Foley who had been executed on camera by a member of ISIS.  Obama, while on vacation, made a brief statement about the Foley tragedy and then hurried off for a round of golf.  Then, after some rare media blowback about the president’s escape to the links, Obama’s group released a story about a mission designed to rescue Foley and others that had gone wrong months earlier.  All that account did was make the United States military look like a bunch of buffoons—which they certainly aren’t.  And so the “we tried but failed” story made the Obama folks look even weaker, if that’s possible.  But it’s all about good intentions, as far as Obama seems to be concerned, and so the country at large moved on.

James Foley was executed and Obama failed to send a representative to the funeral.  Thanks for saving some taxpayer dollars…I suppose.  Of maybe it was just another white guy biting the dust and who cares?  Attending funerals hasn’t been part of the Obama play book, so why start now, right?

But then there’s Michael Brown.   Led by the esteemed Eric Holder, your taxpayer dollars were maximized on behalf of the fallen 18 year old citizen of Ferguson, Missouri.  Obama, again, still on vacation, took the time to insert himself into an issue he wasn’t present for and knew little about. “I have to be very careful about not prejudging these events before investigations are completed because…the DOJ works for me.” said Obama.  He added, “When they’re conducting an investigation, I’ve got to make sure that I don’t look like I’m putting my thumb on the scales one way or another.”

What an interesting collection of words as provided by the president.  He, who knows only what Eric Holder and his staff will tell him, implies that he must stay clear of the Brown investigation, then says the DOJ works for him.  To me that indicates that the DOJ will, indeed, do his (Obama’s bidding) should the investigation not be headed for the desired outcome. Oh, and remember, Holder and his entourage followed a group of 40 plus FBI officers to Ferguson sent ahead to “investigate” the incident.  That’s a lot of people, don’t you think?   I, along with others, just wish Obama, Holder and the FBI had been this motivated 2 years ago when 4 white men were murdered in Benghazi.  I wonder how the White House will spin the 2 year anniversary of that tragedy.  But as Hillary would say, “what difference does it make?”

Look, a lot has been made about race with Obama in the White House.  Of late with the passing of Michael Brown and, earlier, Trayvon Martin.  But, as if on cue, the media has chosen not to report on the death of 20-year-old-Dillon Taylor in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Taylor, who it’s reported was unarmed, was killed by a “non-white” police officer.  The incident occurred 2 days after Michael Brown was killed.  Heard anything about that?  I didn’t think so

And the media, the assorted professional race-baiters and those in public office, continue to turn a blind eye to the hundreds of black on black murders that occur in this country each year.  Are blacks killing other blacks OK with the Holders, Sharptons, Jacksons and Obamas?  is it business as usual?  Is there nothing to see here?

Could the reason be as simple as the difference between Black and White?  Is this part of a plan or just a coincidence? What do you think?
