pjohnf - Votes for Republicans switched to Democrats in Moline - Quincy, IL News - QuincyJournal.com
That's a good question, why do we never hear of democrat votes being switched to republican? I can't recall of an instance where that has happened. Maybe a die hard democrat can point out such an occurrence, We'll be waiting.

CoolEdge - Amazon to open facility in Illinois, hire 1,000 - Quincy, IL News - QuincyJournal.com
The Amazon business model has been based in gaining market share at the expense of profit. They were glad to lose money on every book sold, seeing it as buying loyal customers. But with the internet sales, loyalty is hard to buy. I use Amazon a lot, but I check around for other prices. They keep their prices low, and market share up, by losing money on every sale (or too many of them) This is…

I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it again... the electronic systems are especially vulnerable to tampering, and (in my opinion) they should NOT be trusted. There was nothing wrong with the existing voting methods! Crooked, politically-connected companies (such as Diebold) saw an opportunity to make a killing at taxpayers' expense, and they took it. It's shameful.

Strawman: Trey Gowdy Rocks!

4 months ago by Strawman

I have the same feeling I had Sunday afternoon.  USA is leading Portugal 2-1 in the World Cup---there are seconds remaining in the game. But, because it’s soccer, no one really knows how much time is left, but what the heck. The good guys are winning and it looks like they’ve made the final 16.  And then disaster.  Portugal ties the game on a perfect goal and………..it’s reality all over again.

The same thing would happen 24 hours later.

Monday night (that’s right Earl, prime time, must see TV)  South Carolina’s Trey Gowdy slapped the taste out of the mouth of IRS Commissioner and snark-master John Koskinen.  It was a thing of beauty.

The IRS, who up to those few moments Monday night, pretty much had been telling those participating at the Congressional hearings to suck on it, were dealt a set-back.  All be it, not a big one, but an in your face Mr. IRS, you’re not as smart as you think you are set-back.  And it was all done by the book and in the most professional manner possible given the circumstances.

The trouble the right will have with Gowdy handing Koskinen his ass, is that, save for a few us who enjoy a good beat down now and again, it will soon be forgotten.  Or Daryl Issa or John Boehner will sell us out behind closed doors.  Come to think of it, that’s probably happening right now.

But for the moment, Gowdy is my guy.  For a brief moment, the USA was leading the country of IRS-Obama 2-1.  So I guess I’ll have to live in the moment.

The good news here; Trey Gowdy is the point man on the upcoming Benghazi Special Committee.  The bad news; there’s only one of him.

And don’t bring Paul Ryan’s name up.  Ain’t even close……
