I root for the Cleve Browns even though they have zero chance of winning the super bowl. Chance of winning doesn't come into play on this obsession - doesn't come into play when I vote either. I vote for what I want - I do not "settle"..

The goal this year is not to win its to get 5% of the vote so ballot access is not an issue in four years. Right up until about a month and a half ago the Libertarians were doing little if any campaigning. They were fighting court battles the GOP brought against them. And it was the same with the Green and Constitution partys to get on the ballot. Its hard to fund raise when you can't campaign…

Minimum wage it for minimum employees. A person should be able to work for any wage they want too without government interference.

If the Dems contaminate the ballot box the only recourse is exactly the same as was give n the Crown!

What we need is a better voting system...like the Borda method. Then the 3rd party candidate most assuredly would have a chance....but for just that reason you'll never see it....the controlling parties not wanting a 3rd party to have any chance. Plus it's a bit difficult to count unless you are computerized. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borda_count

Strawman: Is America a Nation of Sheep?

Hey!!  Did you hear there’s a plane missing?  Something about a Flight 370 that disappeared about 10 days ago.  It’s been on every cable channel, newscast, blog, website and newspaper in the world and now, as of this moment, we’re still not sure just where it is. But that hasn’t stopped the media.  They, especially CNN and FOX NEWS, have cussed and discussed the story until there’s just not another syllable to offer.   The only story that’s getting as much air time is Russia taking over Crimea and Ukraine and what WE’RE NOT DOING about it.  But that’s just me.

Malaysian Flight 370 is a tragedy. But the even bigger tragedy is the way the story has been covered.  There’s been little or no attention paid to the victims or their survivors. They, along with those who perished on the flight are merely an afterthought.  Oh yeah, there were 239 on board when the plane disappeared—look for that stat on page 6F—if you read that far.

You see there was a time when adults were employed by the major media news outlets in the country, but no more.  Today’s crop of journalists are merely a group of progressive wanna-be’s who never let the facts get in the way of a good story and are more apt to buy into whatever line of crap that’s handed them by the spokespersons for this and that, rather than ask a question that might appear to be a little tough.

What I’m saying here is this: sometimes you have to piss off a few people to get the point across. Sometimes you have to call bull_____ on someone’s canned, talking point answer, rather than swallow and say, “thank you sir, may I have another?”

There was a time when a person could count on the media and, in some cases, their elected officials to stand up for them, do the right thing, and help shed some light on those wrong doings that were causing pain to the general public.

Those days are gone.

In my opinion, the media is as much to blame for the condition this country is in than those few who have and are currently governing us.  You see, Washington no longer fears those in the media.  They’ve been paid off, they’re part of the team, they are “one of the guys.”  And because of that, the fraud and deception that once was detected by the press, is now either being ignored, or in some cases, condoned by that same press.

It’s all just one big happy family.

So, what do you do?  Well, you could sit back and watch another episode of “House of Cards” on Netflix, which wouldn’t be a bad idea.  But there are only 2 seasons (26 episodes), available so you’ll have to figure something else out.

How about you try this: the next time you hear, see or read something that doesn’t sit well with you, why don’t you call the person at the root of the issue?  Why don’t YOU ask the question the pansies (that was not the word I was wanting to use there) at the major media outlets didn’t ask.

Educate yourself—and then educate those around you.  Attempt to make the people in your group—the ones who still might have an open mind---cognizant of the events that are and will continue to affect them and their families

Become aware—or get in line with the rest of the sheep and wonder what the hell just happened to your country.  Sounds pretty simple to me.
