Lauded for his efforts? He was a full-time firefighter who attended half the practices and ran a very unorganized program. Several key players quit during his tenure as coach. Those were some of his problems.

A call into police indicated shots fired - turns out, children were playing with air guns

Officers from Quincy Police and the Adams County Sheriff's Department responded to a call of shots fired in the 1800 block of South 30th Monday afternoon.

Golfers on Westview Golf Course reported seeing teenage boys with guns and hearing shots fired at a South 30th home bordering the golf course.

"Looks like kids were messing around with air guns," said Sgt. Doug Vandermaiden of QPD.
