Strawman: Tis the Season of Fairness
1 year, 5 months ago
Tis the season for fairness, equal opportunity, level playing fields and all the other buzzwords that are and have been injected into the daily collection of terms that are used to describe this thing and that. Our current President loves to use words like these to point out that those in the middle class and lower are there because those living a better life are living that life ONLY because they stole those opportunities. Those people who have gone out on their own, developed new products, opened new businesses, sold franchises, created jobs, provided careers and paths to future wealth to hundreds of thousands, if not millions of Americans, are, according to this president and his followers, crooks, liars, and cheats. Where is the fairness? Where is the equal opportunity?
Let’s talk about REAL fairness for a change. In 2008 when our current president was running for his first term the majority of the media as we know it failed to properly vet the candidate in question. Sure, those on the right pointed out his affiliations with gentlemen like Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko, Van Jones, David Stern and others. But the liberal press came to Obama’s rescue and painted the conservative media as racists and mean spirited.
But a funny thing happened 3 years into the President’s first term—the majority of the charges made against Obama turned out to be correct. He did hear what Reverend Wright was saying during those 20 years he attended Wright’s church—he did serve on boards with Bill Ayers—which is much more than he admitted to at first—he has been connected with ACORN since the early 1990s—SEIU chief Andy Stern visited the White House 22 times in the first 7 months Obama was in office—Tony Rezko (now behind bars) was much more than just a neighbor and Obama was endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America in 1996. We’re not talking about the Elks Club or Noon Rotary—this is ACORN and the DSA.
And how has the press dealt with this? That popping noise you hear is the sound of vertebrae snapping as the liberal press look the other way.
So, while we’re in the spirit of the season I ask simply this: if we’re going to cuss and discuss everything and everyone the current crop of Republican Presidential candidates are to have said and/or been involved with. If we’re going to analyze their every move and critique every sound and syllable—then let’s do the same for the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Obama got a pass the first time around America. He’s done nothing to deserve another one.
Be safe this season and Happy Holidays!
