Board meets again Friday morning - announcement possible

The Quincy School Board met Tuesday evening to interview a second candidate to be interim superintendent for the School District.

No action was taken, and the Board adjourned the meeting until 8 a.m. Friday morning.

The District must have an interim in place as it continues to search for a replacement for Lonny Lemon.

School Board President Bill Daniels said the members conducted the interview during a closed session. They interviewed their first candidate during a special meeting last week.

He said that after Friday's closed session, they "might be able to take action" - though he couldn't elaborate.

In the meantime, he wants to remind people that the District is seeking community input for the selection of the next permanent superintedent.

The search firm School Exec Connect has set up an online survey people can access on the District's Web site at www.qps.org.

There is also a meeting Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the Quincy Senior High School cafeteria. Community members are invited to attend a meeting with reps from SEC.
