If that's true then somebody is lying. If the "true" levy is going up 6.53% and EAV only 3% then the tax rate would HAVE to go up too. Or are they not counting the bond payments, tort, and life safety in what's being reported here as the "levy"? If so...then we need more accurate reporting from our news people. This approach is called lying by omission.

Melinda Hamilton was arrested on a probation violation

The mother of a child known as Baby Nora asked for a bond reduction in court Monday.

Melinda Hamilton,of Hannibal, was arrested on a probation violation. She has a bond of $20,000.

The request for bond reduction is under advisement and Hamilton remains in custody.

Court documents show she had served 120 days of a 10-year sentence in a Missouri prison on felony drug charges. 

She received five years of supervised probation. 

Hamilton's next hearing is scheduled for July 22. 

Dustin Dye, also of Hannibal, faces two counts of felony assault in connection to physical injury to the 7-week-old baby. 

A preliminary Hearing for Dye is set for July 28th. 

He is being held in the Marion County Jail under $250 thousand cash only bond.
