So the airport director announces he's SAVING the taxpayers $45,000 and the very first comment is a veiled bashing on them for spending money for work that the FAA said must be done.... ....and people wonder why Bud Neikamp keeps getting re-elected with his "policy of No."

What a load of crap. Dick Durbin's support for the Big Government and crony-capitalist machine has taken money out of everyones' pockets and has forced many businesses to shut down or leave in order to remain profitable. Durbin is responsible for Obamacare and our skyrocketing insurance premiums. Everything that happens in Obamaland happens with Durbin's blessing. Durbin is responsible…

You are assuming the federal government moves quickly??? 10,000 PAX in CY2013 means FAA $$ in FY 2015 which starts Oct 1...but budgets don;t get approved that early and haven't for years (can you say "continuing resolution"?). After the budget gets approved they actually then have to write a check. So counting that money this year would be folly. Should be in next year's budget though…

From://www.quincyil.gov/files/documents/document/000/000/670.2015%20BUDGET%20document.pdf The airport budget shows $249,880 in "Charges for Services". $393,250 comes from our general revenue (at least I assume all the transfers in are from the city general revenue).

Quinn makes minor cuts to $35.7 billion Illinois budget

2 months, 2 weeks ago from Associated Press

Gov. Pat Quinn has used his line-item veto power to make minor cuts to a $35.7 billion state budget plan he has called "incomplete."

In a statement Monday, Quinn says he's eliminating $250 million for renovations of the state Capitol. The Chicago Democrat also says the state will sell nearly half its airplanes.

Lawmakers passed the spending plan for the fiscal year that begins Tuesday after Democratic leaders couldn't find enough votes to extend Illinois' temporary income tax increase. Quinn had lobbied in favor of the extension in the midst of a tough re-election campaign against Republican Bruce Rauner, who opposes it.

The lawmakers' plan doesn't allocate enough money to cover state expenses. It uses special funds for day-to-day operations and banks on possible future increases in revenue.
