The FLSA was passed in 1947 with a minimum wage of $0.75/hr and has changed over the course of time. This law has, to date, not been found unconstitutional, so, ergo it is a constitutional law, whether you like it or not. When Franklin D. Roosevelt was pushing for a national minimum wage, he said: “By living wages, I mean more than a bare subsistence level — I mean the wages of a decent living.”…

Wow, all I can say is wow. The ignorance of people never ceases to amaze me. "This movement is saying that America is less than she promises to be, morally and constitutionally, by denying living wages," Barber said. Really? I don't recall minimum wage in the constitution. Oh here it is, page 340598, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness...and $15 and hour with benefits. Can't believe…

I got the impression you were a bit older so I'm curious as to what tax credit you are getting that means you get back more than you paid in. That's usually reserved for child credit and earned income credit. I imagine it might be earned income credit and if you get back more than you paid in that's an entitlement. How about if they get food stamps and a free lunch, the food stamp amount if lowered by what the free lunches cost. As that is double dipping. WHY should the taxpayers have to pay them twice of more for the same thing?

Rauner adds another $1.3 million to campaign

5 months ago From suntimes.com

From From suntimes.com:

Multi-millionaire venture capitalist Bruce Rauner has sunk another $1.3 million into his campaign fund, state board of election records show.

Rauner is showing his financial strength with just three weeks left in the four-way GOP primary for Illinois governor.

Rauner is facing a series of attack ads — including two union-funded TV spots and one lengthy mailer that was sent to Republican voters statewide.

Rauner has donated more than $5 million of his own money to his campaign fund — including $501,000 last week.

Last year, Rauner’s self-funding meant the caps were lifted for all the candidates — including Democratic incumbent Gov. Pat Quinn.
