Man hit a ditch and flew off the snowmobile

A rural Carthage man was killed Saturday night near Basco, Illinois.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Department reports that 47 year old Robert E. Clark was riding a snowmobile in a field northeast of Basco when he struck a ditch and flew off the snowmobile.

Clark was wearing a helmet.

He was taken to Carthage Memorial Hospital where he later died.
