For a home user who gets paid to send excess power to the grid why would they buy a battery to store it instead? Where's the cost savings? And how/where are you giong to dispose of such a battery? Li-ion batteries already explode...I can only imagine what a huge battery would do. if you are an off-grid home perhaps...but there aren't many of those. And the safety hazard for industrial…

You would be able to cut back in manpower, as ALL would be cross trained. Would not need the buildings as could put them in one super station, or 2 if you like. You would have more coverage on the streets at all times, and faster response times. Would be able to reduce manpower, as would not need as many as would supplement with volunteer firemen. The fire dept, spends about 2% of it's time actually…

Your hatred for firefighters show in each of your posts. All of the stats you use are completely made up, for example you say 87% of fire calls are medical. It's closer to 60%, but you use 87%, not 85 or 90%, but 87!! I guess if your made up statistics seem specific, people will believe it? It would be very interesting to see how few post there would be if people like you actually used facts in…

Forum at East St. Louis' Casino Queen seeks input from the region's casinos, a horse track and East St. Louis officials

A lawmaker is launching the latest quest to broaden gambling in Illinois with a public hearing in southwestern Illinois.

Democratic state Rep. Bob Rita of Blue Island near Chicago says a forum Tuesday night at East St. Louis' Casino Queen seeks input from the region's casinos, a horse track and East St. Louis officials.

Rita says his measure would resemble one that failed in the Illinois General Assembly last year. It called for adding five new Illinois casinos, as well as slot machines at Chicago's two international airports.

Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn has vetoed two previous gambling bills because he says they didn't include enough ethical protections. Quinn also has said he'll only sign legislation that provides adequate oversight of a Chicago casino and directs new revenues to education.
