Missouri Route 79 is closed and will be for most of the day today after three cars from a BNSF coal train derailed across from Continental Cement about a mile South of Hannibal.
Traffic is being re-routed on routes T and N while rail crews work to right the cars and clear the tracks.
The Missouri Department of Transportation expects it will be mid-afternoon before Highway 79 can be opened to traffic.
