Bridge will be replaced for $573,375
Illinois announced Thursday a capital investment of more than $573,000 for a bridge replacement project in northern Hancock County. The project is part the state's plan to create jobs and drive Illinois’ economy forward.
“This work is part of our commitment to make the state’s bridges safer,” Governor Pat Quinn said. “The project will also employ a number of construction workers, which will help the local economy.”
The project will be managed by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
A bridge carrying Township Road 7 over a Spring Creek tributary one mile west of Disco will be replaced for $573,375 by Brandt Construction Co. of Milan, the lowest of four bidders.
