I haven't messed with any comments like that. Might be an "intense debate" issue, the third party that we use for processing comments. I could have just said "my sandbox, my rules" but it didn't apply here. :) BG

Strawman has it exactly right. Fifty years of overwrought Liberal policies have delivered an uneducated, uncivilized segment of the population that has never known accountability and worse, never experienced the satisfaction of accomplishment. People of all races have had great opportunity in this Country, as evidenced by throngs of immigrants who have succeeded. As for blacks in particular, there…

I'd like to know why some comments are allowed considerable word count and others, being submitted to the same thread, and already much shorter than those posted, are blocked as being "a little too long" ? How do you account for the inconsistent 'editing' program?

No matter who or what entity decided the trash issue, the new admin is, at the very least trying to NOT hide monetary losses, like the last admin and the ones before it, Dem or Rep. Weren't we going in the hole by hundreds of thousands a year with trash, and not to mention the hydro fiasco, but I will. Aren't they at least trying? I sincerely hope all the posters hating on this admin show…

Obama, Sharpton, Holder and de Blasio are not welcome at the funerals of these men. They don't even acknowledge that their shooter killed minority officers. Anybody notice that?

It is about that we start showing some appreciation for our city county and state Police officers. They are the only thing between us and chaos. They stand between us and the beginning of the downfall of this wonderful country. .

CoolEdge - Strawman: Nothing Has Changed... - Quincy, IL News - QuincyJournal.com

Brown and Garner don't deserve to be listed with the officers. Brown was a drugged robber assaulting an officer. Garner had 31 arrests and was killed by his own bad health and insistence on fighting the law. These NYPD officers were serving in a community where the law abiding cry for more police. Brown and Garner were low life criminals. Any pretense of "an eye for an eye" is a mask for…

never a good day when you find out the state is getting their hands in your Water Buffalo milk.

eaglebeaky - Strawman: Nothing Has Changed... - Quincy, IL News - QuincyJournal.com

With all due respect, Strawman... "Nothing has changed" because it's still way too easy for an obviously mentally-ill man with a long criminal history to get his hands on a deadly weapon in this country. "Nothing has changed" because access to basic mental-health care has been stigmatized and whittled away over the course of the past three decades. Yes, Al Sharpton IS an inflammatory self-aggrandizing…

I like how we're legalizing one plant drug, but at the same time we're banning another. Pick a side already.

When is County Market and Hy-Vee gonna get Water Buffalo milk?

I'd like to ask the Rev Al if this is enough revenge for him or if he will continue to stoke the fire?? Blue Lives Matter Also.

Cougar hunting. Now that's a sport I can endorse. They can be dangerous though, be careful.

1950Brutus - Get ready for new laws in Illinois - Quincy, IL News - QuincyJournal.com

Are you talking about cougars with 4 legs or 2 legs??

So much for my new business idea --- Gray Wolves, Black Bears, and Cougars Trading Company.

If the state or local police don't treat these any better than last years laws (throwing cigarettes on ground & phone use while driving) then these laws are a joke like Illinois.

It is correct that the tote system was presented as a means to solve a high work comp ratio. And it is correct that the projected number of 1500 households fell sadly low in comparison...merely 700 with people canceling. And why not? Private haulers matching the price and you can put anything out for them, it doesn't have to be bagged. Oh, but put a price on those small businesses so they can't…

jannie122 - Mays not seeking re-election to Quincy School Board - Quincy, IL News - QuincyJournal.com

There has been a lot of info about the school board election in the media. But, Are the same people that were on the Quincy Park Board running? Or, maybe that election isn't held at the same time the School Board Election? Sorry to see Jeff M. go, although I didn't agree with him all the time.

What property of the city does Comsast use? The biggest chunk of property leased to them is probably Amerens power poles, unless they have buildings residing on city property that I am not aware of. the fee paid to the phone company is paid by whoever is leasing the line. If Adams provides DSL to a customer in quincy and they do not have any plant in the area but AT&T does Adams can rent the line…

GuyFawkes10 - Mayor Moore talks garbage...again - Quincy, IL News - QuincyJournal.com

I think Ameren pays also. Maybe we should put up toll booth to enter city so we can tax the people from out of town for using our services. I guess we get them at the cash register but we pay that also
