REBEL MEDIA: A funny thing happened on the way to the forum
2 months ago by Bob Gough
It amazes me to see the local media continue to treat hydro like the staff at Hogwart's treats Voldemort.
"It shall not be named!"
Not one question from the panel about the city's $5.5 million loss on the project during Tuesday night's Adams County League of Women Voters candidates forum. The question was finally allowed during the submitted questions.
QU Professor Brian Borlas quoted directly from Mayor John Spring's campaign literature to ask Alderman Kyle Moore a question about his voting record. It was odd.
Also, Spring was allowed to rebut Moore's answers on two occasions, but then when Moore tried to rebut a Spring answer, he was stopped by moderator Iris Nelson. I even had Spring supporters texting me during the event asking me "What the Hell was that?"
Spring is more than prepared provide an answer and defend hydro. He's done it for me on more than one occasion. And it should be up to the voters to decide if they like his answer.
But everyone else seems afraid to ask the damn question.
I wonder if local Republicans will ever decide one day to boycott one of these forums or the Herald-Whig's agenda-filled editorial boards.
Or maybe they're just masochists.
