Quincy Tea Party will host three speakers starting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Turner Hall, 926 Hampshire.
Author William Been from Pennsylvania will be at the meeting to discuss his latest book, "Masters of Audacity and Deceit." Been, a retired manufacturing executive, explains the impact of the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy, the AIG bailout and the problems with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
"Initially I was just satisfying my curiosity. What I found was that some of the root causes went back even into the 1960s," Been said. "This is not my opinion. There are 777 notes in the back" citing sources for the material, he said.
In addition Adam Sharp, a blogger from the St. Louis area will attend the meeting. Sharp will be known to many for video he posted online after former U.S. Rep. Phil Hare said at a Quincy town hall meeting that he was not worried that the health care reform law violated the U.S. Constitution. The video went viral and is thought to have contributed to Hare's defeat in 2010 by U.S. Rep. Bobby Schilling, R-Colona.
The third speaker will be Chris Loesch, owner of Shock City Studios in the St. Louis area. Loesch creates films, videos, Web sites and graphics and is married to radio commentator Dana Loesch.
