Trees cost 30 dollars each and must be planted on city right-of-way

There are still 36 trees available in Quincy's annual tree planting program.

Trees cost 30 dollars each and must be planted on city right-of-way. City crews will plant the trees- however, property owners are responsible for watering and other upkeep. City officials say young trees require large amounts of water, especially during long periods of dry weather. Crews reserve the right to adjust the location of the trees to prevent problems with utilities.

There were 80 trees available when the program began earlier this month. Most of the varieties offered are still available.

Residents can buy trees before November 1 in person at Central Services, 2020 Jennifer Road in Quincy, or call 228-4520 for more information.
