Quincy Regional has second busiest month since Cape Air started

Airline just missed 900 boardings in August
The second busiest month since Cape Air began running Quincy to St. Louis flights has moved Quincy Regional Airport closer to $1 million in federal funding.
Quincy Regional had 899 boardings in August. That was the second highest amount of traffic since Cape Air took over as the airport's Essential Air Service provider in November 2009.
QRA has had 6,460 enplanements through August. If the airport has the same amount of traffic as it had last year, they will fall just short of the 10,000 boardings needed to gain $1 million from the FAA for capital improvements for the facility at 9,865 passengers.
But, QRA has experienced increased traffic in seven of the previous eight months this year, making it seem very possible that the mark will be reached.
"We remain optimistic that we will reach 10,000 enplanements by year’s end," said Interim Airport Manager Jeff Steinkamp.
