Operations are expected to move to the facility on Bonansinga Drive next summer
The Quincy Park District officially purchased the property formerly known as the Bay Watch Café/River’s Edge Complex on Bonansinga Drive and the surrounding 12 acres on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
The District will renovate the building for use as its office and programming space over the next few months. The District office is planning to move by July or August of 2013.
The Park District purchased a 10,000 square foot building on a little more than 12 acres at 1231 Bonansinga Drive for $875,000. The Board approved the purchase in April.
Renovations to the building to convert it to Park District office space are expected to cost about $250,000.
The current headquarters, Emerson Community Center at 1310 Washington, will be sold once the office has moved. The playground located northeast of Emerson will be retained as a neighborhood park when the rest of the property is sold.
