Program will be held on Sunday, November 4th
Quincy Medical Group Healthcare Foundation would like to announce a Halloween candy buy back program as part of its 75th Anniversary celebration for the community on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 2:00-5:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army, Kroc Center Gymnasium located at 405 Vermont Street in Quincy.
As part of the candy buy back program, Quincy Medical Group Foundation will give $1 per pound of donated candy. The QMG Foundation will in turn, donate the candy to the Salvation Army.
“As part of our core value to promote health in the community we serve, Quincy Medical Group is at the forefront of education and awareness concerning the childhood obesity epidemic. We believe that kids should have the ability to enjoy a small amount of Halloween candy, while understanding that moderation is key to maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle. This event is a way to raise awareness and promote healthy living, while giving back to the community,” stated Angie Zanger-Geiselman, Registered Dietitian at Quincy Medical Group.
Quincy Medical Group Foundation’s goal for this year is to buy back 75 pounds of candy, representative of 75 years of Quincy Medical Group’s service to the community. This goal is 25 pounds more than what was bought back during last year’s event.
