I am so happy with the new owners of Journal for such a great article. The kids and their coach worked very hard for this.

I'm sad I got caught...I'm demonstrating humility because of the embarrassment to my family.

Often, financial support comes with a catch. If the team can manage to get by with fundraisers and donations, it's worth it to keep the school administration at bay.

The most ridiculous part of the article was when they said, "unity of the Islamic faith". It might just be me, but trying to kill all infidels doesn't seem very unifying.

Police say Casey Mayes, 21, was driving a stolen car under the influence before wrecking it and fleeing the scene

A Quincy man is behind bars after hitting two parked cars with a stolen vehicle and leading police on a foot chase.

Police say Casey Mayes, 21, of Quincy was driving a pickup truck northbound in the 1600 block of north 5th just after 11 pm. Mayes allegedly crossed the center line and struck two southbound facing vehicles.

He fled the scene but was later located and brought back to the vehicle.  Police then determined that the vehicle Mayes was driving was stolen. He was also found to be under the influence of alcohol and in possession of a revoked license.

He is charged with Aggravated DUI, Improper Lane Usage, Driving While License Revoked, and Possession of Stolen Vehicle.

Mayes is lodged in the Adams County Jail awaiting his first court appearance.
