Quincy man faces federal meth charges

Troy Cleesen has two prior felony convictions; Faces 30 years
Quincy Resident Troy E. Cleesen, age 44 of 807 Broadway, Apartment #4 was charged in Federal Court in Springfield on Thursday. Cleesen is charged with Manufacture of Methamphetamine.
West Central Illinois Task Force arrested Cleesen at the Broadway address on November 19th, 2012. Cleesen was arrested during the service of a search warrant. The warrant resulted in the seizure of a shake and bake methamphetamaine laboratory and methamphetamine.
Cleesen was facing charges in state court of Aggravated Unlawful Particpation in Methamphetamine Production and Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine. The state charges were dismissed by Adams County States Attorney Jon Barnard so the case may proceed to federal court.
Assistant United States Attorney Bryan Freres will be prosecuting the case for the United States Government.
Cleesen has two prior felony convictions and is eligible for a sentence of up to 30 years in the federal bureau of prisons.
