Quincy Art Center gets state grant of nearly $100,000

Public museums in Illinois will share $15 million in state money for facility improvements and new exhibits.
Gov. Pat Quinn announced the funding on Thursday. His office says it will create more than 370 jobs.
The money comes from the Illinois Public Museum Capital Grants Program. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources manages the program. About 50 museums, parks, gardens and zoos will receive funding.
The Quincy Art Center, 1515 Jersey, will receive $99,800. for rehabilitative construction that includes interior and exterior improvements to the historic Sinnock Gallery improving visitor safety and experience while providing a better environment for the permanent collection display.
Rotating exhibits will be included that expand audience capacity.
