QU artist-in-residence to present piano recital

Leonora Suppan-Gehrich, artist in residence at Quincy University and internationally acclaimed concert pianist, will present a free recital in the Quincy University Chapel on Sunday, October 21 at 2 P.M.


Leonora Suppan-Gehrich, artist in residence at Quincy University and internationally acclaimed concert pianist, will present a recital in the Quincy University Chapel on Sunday October 21, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. The recital is free and the public is encouraged to attend.  

The program will feature works by Ludwig van Beethoven. Ms Gehrich will be joined by violinist Brian Gehrich in performing Romance in F major, Op. 50. This work will be followed by the well-known Piano Sonata No. 21, Op. 53, also known as the Waldstein sonata. After intermission, the duo will perform Romance in G major, Op. 40, and Sonata in G major, Op. 96. Ms. Gehrich joined the QU faculty in 1976. Throughout her distinguished career she has received numerous awards for her contributions as a performer, educator and supporter of the arts.
