I believe if you check, you will find that Property Developers are required by City Code to put in sidewalks at their expense unless they get a waiver from that part of the code. Once the sidewalks are in, they become the city's responsibility to maintain.

Does anyone else remember that much (most?) of the land the Kroc Center now occupies was formerly Salvation Army property and thus exempt from taxation all along? That would seem to mitigate some of the tax issues some on here are so jacked up about. If I am in error, I welcome correction and/or dissenting opinions.

Well that guy asked for a gift of money to build his building. So yeah, many objected. The city proposed making it a loan and he backed out. To the best of my knowledge the Kroc center never asked for a thing. It's the city that put proposed putting in the sidewalks since they own that part of the property...just like they own the sidewalks in all the city right of way. Now...since sidewalks…

Tyvonn D Campbell, 20, 1115 N 5th for Residential Burglary that occurred at 504 Jersey on 11-24-12.  Lodged. 

Chrsity Goode reported on 03/02 between 1745 and 1930 her vehicle was damaged while parked at the Maya Resturant. There was paint chipped above the driver's passenger door, it appeared to be from a BB or pellet gun.

Russell Ash 69, reported between 2-20 to 2-26 unk person entered 2615 Kentucky and removed 2 light fixtures and 4 wooden end tables

Jessica Wilson 30,1118 Locust apt A reported between 0800 to 1200 Vehicle on 3-6 drivers door of her car was keyed while parked at 9 Oak

Brett Douglas 36,1260 Vermont reported between 0330 to 0815 on 3-2 Vehicle the drivers side window was shot out with a bb while the truck was parked at 715 No 7th ,4 other vehicles in the area had their windows   shot also no suspects

Alicia Cunningham 42,owner of Sterling Awards reported the business checking account info was used in Tennessee no suspects

On 3-1,0642 the traffic light at 4th Broadway was struck by dark blue Dodge Ram pickup the truck left no bound. IDOT was called.
