Migraine, you are so right on, government isn't concerned about citizen's welfare, it's always been about money, power and control. Why do barbers, hairdressers and other such jobs need a license from some state bureaucracy? It's about the money?

See, I like that big, empty lot at the corner of 8th/Jersey. Put up a nice, multi-story building, move the county's sheriff's offices and jail over there with underground parking like the city police have. Put in some space for the state police to have an office or two in there as a satellite to the Pittsfield office, and keep some space for growth as needed. Put the jail in the upper sections…

This facility pre-dates my arrival in Quincy, so I'm wondering if there was a jail facility in there all the time, even when the city owned the building? There is an obvious need for a new county jail, but can we construct and outfit this government building for less than $500/sf? How about Triple-thickness cinder block construction inside a triple-layer electrified barbed-wire perimeter fence.…

Do you know how old that jail is. Older than a lot of you. It was built in the early 50s or late 40s. It IS time for a new jail but "good luck with that". Too many people are too much in to their own life to be concerned about something they'll probably never see or use. I agree with migraine-in-qcy that it doesn't have to be pretty, but it DOES HAVE TO BE SAFE for those working there.…

Arrest Traffic Michael E Clowers 28 3100 State E66 No Valid Dl, Operating Uninsured Vehicle and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid Accident NTA 

Arrest Traffic Ngol L Nguyen 26 920 Country Club Heights #102 Speeding and Failure to Properly Restrain Child Under 8 years old NTA

Arrest/NTA Teresa A. Walker 49 of 913 Chestnut for possession of drug paraphernalia at her residence on 01-18-13.  

Arrest/NTA Amanda S. Brown 33 of 609 Adams for trespass and stealing at Hy Vee, 1400 Harrison on 11-26-12.  

Arrest Alexandrea M Clifton, 17, 1321 N 5th for shoplifting at Kmart 3701 Broadway on 1-18-13 at 1459 hrs.  NTA.

Arrest Joshua E Palmer, 24, Mendon, IL for failure to yield at a stop sign at 10th and State on 1-18-13 at 1238 hrs.  NTA. 

Arrest Sharon K Herron, 72, 2000 N Sheridan Drive for failure to yield-left turn at 25th and Broadway on 1-10-13 at 1143 hrs. 

Arrest Michelle K Kasparie, 48, 4707 Hidden Cove Rd for improper driving at 28th and Chestnut on 1-18-13 at 0953 hrs.  NTA. 

Arrest/lodged TaRae T Gates, 19, 1223 N 5th for FTA Retail Theft.  She was located at 3300 Broadway on 1-19-13 at 1539 hrs.  Lodged. 

Theft under  Norm J Franco, 41 an employee of Meineke, 2815 Broadway reported four banners belonging to Meineke were taken between 1-12-13 1700 hrs and 1-14-13 0700 hrs.

Theft under  Vicki L Dagget, 60, 623 Jackson report that on 1-13-13 between 1500 hrs and 1630 hrs her purse and contents were taken from 1800 College.
