Lower costs? Fewer pickups? Lower salary? The same trucks, running the same routes because some people will still be putting yard waste out. And if you think City workers will cut their own paid hours because of fewer pickups, you're delusional.

If I were a betting man.... I would bet that the city council on Monday does not pass the budget. it will be like 9-5 opposed. Then a special council meeting on Thursday to try and pass a budget on Friday.

You're 100% right that it would change what some people do, including - it seems - yourself. And do you know what that would result in? Lower costs to the city. Fewer pick-ups due to people doing it themselves means lower vehicle maintenance. Lower salary expense due to decreased hours. Yes, some people would stop using the service, which reduces the EXPENSE of providing that service. The point…

Arrest Sha'andra L Lewis 26 1228 N 7th for Malicious Mischeif and FTA Uninsured Lewis was lodged on the warrant

Arrest/lodged Michael G. Roberts 37 of Chicago for FTA-peace disturbance at 10/Broadway on 01-14-13.

Fire Investigation Wendy Buckley 47 3223 Crestview reported that her 08 Kia Sorento on fire at 0339H on 12/27/12. QFD responded and put the fire out. QFD ruled the fire as not suspicious and undetermined. The fire started under the hood near the battery compartment.

Fraud John Reese 56 2000 Vermont reports two unauthorized charges on his PayPal debit card on 1/10/13. Reese has no suspects

Arrest Jamie L. Bessell, 37, 909 1/2 N. 12th, for Operating an Uninsured Vehicle and Expired Registration at 18th Vermont at 1241 hrs of 01/09/13.  Released on dl. 

Arrest Daryn M. Foster, Jr., 19, and Timmy Goodwin both of 1601 S. 24th, apt. 419 and for Retail Theft, at Kohl's, 6100 Broadway, at 1546 hrs of 01/05/13.  Released on NTA. 

Arrest Walker T. Smith, 17, 1839 Cherry, for Expired Registration at 12th Jefferson at 1653 hrs of 01/14/13.  Releaaed on NTA. 

Arrest/lodged Trisha Thomas 32, 2603 W. Valleyview for FTA stealing at the courthouse on 1/15. 

Arrest/Traffic Donnell Weldon 30,620 Harrison Drive,arrested for DWLS,Uninsured Vehicle at 5 Vermont 1-15,1225hrs  nta

Hit and Run Kristina D. Dietrich, 1220 Monroe, reported her 12 Kia was struck by an unknown vehicle while it was parked in front of her residence between 2200 hrs of 01/09/13 and 0800 hrs of 01/10/13.
