Following Tuesday night's Plan Commission meeting, a public hearing was held on amendment to the City's Comprehensive Plan

Following Tuesday night's Plan Commission meeting, a public hearing was held on amendment to the City's Comprehensive Plan.

The purpose of the hearing was to take public input about the updated plan, which was replacing the 1986 Comprehensive Plan.

Over a span of 8 years, the Commission held small group sessions with citizens in many various neighborhoods throughout the city and asked the same 4 or 5 questions to hear input on topics such as sidewalks, streets, properties, land, etc. Once the Commission took all comments and notes, they would have the community members vote on the importance on each issue.

No action was required at the hearing, the purpose was just for community input.

The Comprehensive Plan incorporates new data, a land use plan, and land use maps.

Copies of the proposed amendment are available for public review in the Planning and Development office, third floor City Hall Annex at 706 Maine St. in Quincy. Cal 217-228-4515 for further information.
