Vincent Carter was taken into custody just before 11 a.m.; Video of Carter going into Adams Co. Jail


QuincyJournal has learned that Vincent B. Carter, the lone suspect in the Thursday afternoon shooting on South 11th Street, has been arrested.

Carter was arrested around 11 a.m. in a northside Quincy residence without incident.

Carter has been charged with First Degree murder in the Thursday shooting death of Terry Williams. Williams was pronounced dead at Blessing Hospital shortly after the shooting.

Carter was questioned all afternoon by police before being delivered to the Adams County Jail around 5 p.m.

Adams County State's Attorney Jon Barnard said Carter will appear in Adams County Circuit Court Monday morning.

The Quincy Police Department, Adams County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force worked together to locate and apprehend Carter.
