Lewis County Republican says he likes Brunner's business background
Missouri State Senator Brian Munzlinger threw his support behind one of the three Republicans vying for the U.S. Senate.
"I'm endorsing John Brunner for our next United States Senator for Missouri. Hoping to make Mr. Brunner our Junior Senator here in Missouri," Munzlinger said.
Munzlinger first endorsed John Brunner’s candidacy for the U.S. Senate Tuesday morning during a campaign stop at the Mark Twain Dinette in Hannibal and then was interviewed on WTAD’s Morning Meeting.
Also on the Morning Meeting, Munzlinger said Brunner’s decades-long experience of leading a family-owned manufacturing company gives him the expertise desperately needed in Washington, D.C.
"Being a farmer and small business person myself, I know we need somebody like that in Washington DC that can take the business principles to Washington and get us back on track," Munzlinger said.
Munzlinger adds Brunner's common sense and agricultural background also helped him decide to endorse Brunner for the upcoming election.
Brunner says Senator Munzlinger's endorsement is tremendous for the campaign.
"We're just working hard together, teaming up to help reclaim the American Dream and get Missouri back on track and get America working again. That's our plan," says Brunner.
Brunner faces Rep. Todd Akin (MO - 2) and former Missouri State Treasurer Sarah Steelman in the August primary.
