I think QJHS's size has a lot to do with it being kept as well. Imagine the cost to rebuild a school of that size. Early in the discussion I recall someone bringing up the idea of building a new high school and architects said that it could easily cost 100 million.

The most interesting thing about this is that SRN&M was only charging the district 80 bucks an hour for legal. Good luck getting that rate next time you slip and fall.

The race card gets pulled out when the liberals don't have any logical arguments left in their bag. They are saying "I can't win this debate with facts so I will assault your character". It is an attempt to win by intimidation. Very sad.

Miss Illinois, Megan Ervin, ended her Cinderella story Saturday night

Quincy Journal grabbed a quick moment with Miss Illinois Megan Ervin on Saturday night as she thanks Quincy and the Tri-State Area for all of the support (click video above from Saturday night). Thanks to Lindsey Hess, Miss Quincy Scholarship Pageant Executive Director, for providing the clip.

Miss Illinois, Megan Ervin, who won Wednesday night's preliminary lifestyle and fitness competition at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas made the top 10 and performed in the talent competition. Her journey ended when she did  not make top 5.

Ervin, a Rushville native who entered the Miss Illinois pageant as Miss Quincy, won a $1,000 Amway scholarship as part of winning the prelim, which is also known as the swimsuit competition.

Miss Iowa, Mariah Cary, made the top 5. She is from Burlington, Iowa.

Miss New York, Mallory Hytes Hagan, 23, was named Miss America 2013.
