Man arrested for filing false police report after allegedly shooting himself

A Quincy man has been arrested for filing a false police report after he allegedly shot himself in the hand.

On August 27, Jeffrey Pollock, 22 of 212 Lind, reported to Quincy Police that an unknown assailant shot him in the hand while he was walking in an alley at 5th  and College on the previous day at around 3 a.m.  The case was assigned to QPD detectives.

Today, Pollock was arrested for filing a false police report.  Pollack is a felon and he was also arrested for unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and reckless discharge of a firearm.

A .22 caliber rifle believed to been used in this incident was recovered in Riverview Park.
