Loraine man arrested for aggravated assault with a firearm

Woman reported her ex-boyfriend threatened her with a gun

On Saturday, October 20, at approximately 5:41pm Quincy Police were called to the 1600 Block of North 6^th to the report of a man with a gun.  Upon arrival, a female told police that her ex-boyfriend had just showed up in front of her house, pointed a gun at her and threatened her. 

An investigation was initiated and a short time later the suspect, 53 year old Charles E. Jenkins of 517 West Witt, Loraine, IL, was located at a residence near 6^th and Maple.  Jenkins was taken into custody and a handgun was found in his possession. 

Jenkins was taken to Quincy Police Headquarters where he was booked.  He was then transported to the Adams County Jail where he was lodged for Armed Violence, Stalking, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.  The Adam’s County Sheriff’s Office Assisted with this investigation.
