Quincy contractor began operations in 1973


Dale Koontz Builder celebrated its 40th anniversary of building homes and neighborhoods in Quincy this weekend.
 
Koontz Builder, started by Dale Koontz in 1973, now employs 12 full time and two part time staff.  One of their employees, Dave Tieman, has been with the company since it's inception, and several others have been with the organization for many years.  Dale's sons, Tim and Scott, joined the business in 1996 and 1999 respectively. Koontz Builder has built hundreds of homes and neighborhoods, including Cambridge Estates, Tuscany Fields, Knollwood, Gardendale and Wild Horse.  
 
In early 2000, they expanded their business with Koontz Properties developing attractive rental units such as Forestdale, Hickory Pointe and 2701 Harrison.  They most recently acquired the 12th Street Apartments. 
 
In the 40 years of operation as a family business, Dale Koontz Builder has never been forced to lay off staff.  Dale Koontz Builder remains a respected and active company who attributes their successful history to treating customers with the highest level of quality and service possible.
