Thirteen Kindle 4 e-book readers are on the ready
Thirteen Kindle 4 e-book readers are available for checkout from Quincy Public Library. Community members interested in learning more about the digital devices are encouraged to check out a Kindle e-reader to see if the format is right for them.
Quincy Public Library members may check out a Kindle device using their library card. The loan period is two weeks, with no renewals allowed at this time. All of the Kindles have been pre-loaded with the same selection of 20 or more books in a variety of genres. Borrowers will not be able to download their own book selections to the Library Kindles.
The Kindle 4 e-readers were selected because the font enlargement and text-to-speech features make reading more accessible to people with visual impairments. Homebound readers may also request a Kindle e-reader with their book delivery.
Quincy Public Library received the Kindles as a result of being a participant in the Eliminating the Digital Divide grant program coordinated by the Illinois State Library in 2011.
For more information about the Kindle E-readers, please call Quincy Public Library at 223-1309, ext. 502, or stop by and check one out!
