WarCry - Council adopts budget by 8-6 vote - Quincy, IL News - QuincyJournal.com
It's pretty amazing how the current situation in the city has put Righty and I on the same side. We generally don't agree on ANYTHING, but at this point, this isn't a political issue, this is pure common sense. When a budget loses funding, you have to - HAVE TO - cut services. Period. You can't continue providing services for nothing. As Righty said, the mayor has offered ideas…

I salute the Mayor for getting out front on the budget cuts from the state. If the cuts don't come to past from the state then…
Righty1 - Council adopts budget by 8-6 vote - Quincy, IL News - QuincyJournal.com
The council decided that cheap garbage and free yard waste was more important that public safety. We got new garbage trucks instead of policemen. These were just a few of the alternatives the mayor offered to fund city government but the "Buds" on the council kept voting NO. There is no FREE LUNCH. No firemen were fired and no policemen were fired so it's not all doom and gloom.
