The event includes trick-or-treating to each cabin

The Friends of the Log Cabins will sponsor a "Halloween in the Log Cabin Village" event in the  Log Cabin Village on Quinsippi Island on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 5 - 9 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 28 from 4:30 - 8:30 p.m. These hours will provide people with small children a chance to visit the village during daylight hours; the schedule will also allow adults with older children to visit the village after dark.

This fun family event will include trick-or-treating to each cabin for the kinds of treats that children would have enjoyed in the 1800s. There will also be local "ghosts from the past" (actors and actresses in period dress) in each cabin, telling their story and explaining their connection to our local history. In addition,  a storytellers'circle will be held in the church cabin.

Participants will also enjoy a weenie roast and s'mores, all made over a campfire. This is a unique chance for children to learn about our local and national history. The cost for this event is $5 each, which includes treats and refreshments.

All proceeds will go toward saving and restoring the log cabins in the village.
