Frese hopes to do what Sullivan did a decade ago

From sj-r.com: Adams County Circuit Clerk Randy Frese is hoping for a repeat of history.

A decade ago, John Sullivan, a relatively unknown Democrat from Rushville, ousted Republican Laura Kent Donahue from the newly redrawn west central Illinois Senate district she’d represented for more than two decades.

Frese, from Paloma, hopes to do the same to Sullivan in the redrawn 47th Senate district.

“I just see a track record of failed leadership in Springfield,” Frese said. “Our state is burdened with debt, we are a deadbeat state that can’t pay its obligations. It’s just because of failed leadership.”

Sullivan, finishing his 10th year in the Senate, said his hard work for the district and ability to cooperate with Republican lawmakers should get him re-elected.
