Free seminar to provide information on arthritis

Blessing Orthopedic Services in cooperation with Quincy Medical Group presents a free seminar on Arthritis on Thursday, January 24, at the Kroc Center in Quincy.  The public can choose from one of two seminar times: 4-5 pm or 6-7 pm.  Registration is recommended by calling 1-877-411-2468 or going online to BlessingHealthSystem.org/orthopedics.

At the seminar, George Crickard, MD, orthopedic surgeon, Quincy Medical Group, will present, “New Year, New Joint, New You,” provide general education on Arthritis, surgical and non-surgical options to treat arthritis pain of the hips and knees, and advances in total joint replacement.

Refreshments will be served at the presentations.

Arthritis is a complex family of musculoskeletal disorders. The musculoskeletal system is the system of muscles and tendons and ligaments and bones and joints and associated tissues that move the body and maintain its form. Arthritis consists of more than 100 different diseases or conditions that can affect people of all ages, races and genders. It robs people of their quality of life and ability to move without pain. The most common signs and symptoms of Arthritis are joint soreness and pain, stiffness after periods of rest that goes away when activity resumes and deterioration of coordination, posture and walking due to pain and stiffness.
