Quincy-based retailer to open tenth location before Memorial Day
Quincy Farm Supply plans to open its tenth Farm and Home Supply store in Havana next year.
The company will renovate the current Pamida store on East Laurel Avenue in Havana, located on the Illinois River in Mason County. Shopko, parent company of Pamida, announced plans to close the store earlier this week.
Renovations will begin in March 2012 and plans are to open the store by Memorial Day 2012.
“We are very excited to find a retail site in Havana,” said General Manager Dan Henke. “This market has many unique opportunities that match up well with our products and services.”
Plans call for a redesign of the store interior to accommodate many new product lines and services such as sporting goods and hardware as well as farm, pet and large animal feeds. The store will also feature a full line of name brand work and outdoor clothing as well as Stihl power equipment sales and service.
“We hope to bring to Havana a totally different mix of quality products and services not currently available,” Henke said. “Supplies such as Stihl, Carhartt, Honda, Under Armour, Cargill, Science Diet and many others will provide the base for our store. We are thrilled to bring great selection, service and prices to Havana.”
Quincy Farm and Home Supply stores have been in operation since 1960 and the company currently operates locations in Missouri, Illinois and Iowa.
